Robert W. Burgos, 85, of Elk Grove Village for 49 years formerly of Detroit, MI. Born in Detroit he passed away February 13, 2017. Robert was an Air Force Vet of the Korean War and a salesman for the automotive division at UTC. Beloved husband of the late LaDonna nee. Myers for 51 years. Loving father of Roger (Terri) Burgos, Ronald Burgos and Nancy (Paul) Jendrycki; cherished grandfather of Justin, Brandon, Sarah, Mark, Parker, Paige and great grandfather of Bradley, Camden, Lilianna and Avianna. A private chapel service will be held at the funeral home and interment at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery – Oakbrook Terrace.

Patricia C. Szostak nee Egelski, 65, of Elk Grove Village for 38 years. Patricia passed away Feb. 16, 2017. She was the beloved wife of Jerry Szostak for 40 years; loving mother of Monica (Scott) Obergfell and Peter Szostak; cherished grandmother of Greyson; dear sister of Nancy Senerchia, Jim (Barb) Egelski, Judy (Mike) Mills and sister in law of Sharon (Dan) Fary. Buffo, 98, a longtime resident of Elk Grove Village passed away February 14, 2017. “Papa” was an avid Blackhawks and Packers fan who will be remembered for his easygoing personality and gentle smile. He was the beloved husband of the late Anna (nee Cottonaro, 1996) for 57 years; loving father of the late Jennie Lee Stompanato (1988); dear grandfather of Frank (Louise), and Carole Stompanato; cherished great grandfather of Frankie, Sara Stompanato, Monika, Jennifer Ziemann; honorary “Papa” to Sophie and Henry Lichner; and devoted brother of Madeline Berg. Family and friends will gather Thursday, Feb. 16 at St. Julian Eymard Church, 601 Biesterfield Road, Elk Grove Village for 11 a.m. Mass. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Alexian Brothers Hospice Residence are appreciated.

Thomas Lee Szarzynski, 82, a resident of Emerald Village in Schaumburg. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, passed away February 10, 2017. Tom was the beloved husband of the late Patricia (nee Stokes, 2012) for 56 years. Tom and Pat met in the Air Force while serving their country. He was the loving father of Thomas (Annita), Bonnie (Jim) McIsaac, William (Debbie), Mark (Debbie), Paul (Monette), James (Marion), Tara (Jack) Demkovich, David (Christine), and Douglas; and cherished grandfather and great grandfather of many. Visitation Sunday, February 12 from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 4 p.m. at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Heights Road, Elk Grove Village. Penny Schneider nee. Schnarr, 88, of Elk Grove Village for 50 years. She was born in Chicago and peacefully passed on Feb. 4, 2017 at Alexian Brothers Hospice Residence after a long battle of COPD and lung cancer. Penny was the beloved wife of the late Richard J. Schneider (2012); loving mother of Gail (Jay) Kloecker and Nancy Henley (Dan Lusk). She leaves behind her beloved grandson Jack Kloecker and grandchildren Adam, Robyn, Jacob and Spencer Henley; dear sister of the late Elvera Redfield and cherished aunt of Cheryl Jansen. Memorial visitation will be Friday Feb. 10 from 10am until the time of service at 11am at Grove Memorial Chapel 1199 S. Arlington Hts. Rd. Elk Grove Village. Lizandro Alva, 85, a resident of Schaumburg, formerly of Evergreen Park and Chicago, passed away February 5, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Maria Alva (nee Garcia) for 55 years; the loving father of Santiago (Varvara) Alva, and Maria Alva; dear grandfather of Isolina, Santiago, Inessa and Maximilian Alva, Gabriela and Mitchell Mackiw; and cherished brother of Antonio Alva. William B. Gregga - 66
William Blake Gregga (Bill) was a lifelong resident of the Chicago area. He was born in Chicago June 18, 1950; son of George William Gregga and Darlene Rose Rovano. Bill died at home on January 22, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was a proud graduate of Mendel Catholic High School and the University of Illinois in Champaign. He enjoyed a career as a sales engineer in the tooling and manufacturing industry for 35 years and retired due to illness in 2009. He loved music of all styles and collected pens and watches as a hobby. Bill was an active church member throughout his life and enjoyed teaching and participating in Sunday school and small group Bible studies. Bill is survived by Jane Allison Mitchell, his wife of 43 years. Bill was the proud father of three sons and 8 grandchildren: Jason and his wife Sarah with their daughters Isabelle and Sophia of Fairborn, Ohio; Michael and his wife Pamela with their children Cameron, Abigail and Dominic of Jacksonville, North Carolina; James and his wife April with their children William Blake (Blake), Alexander (Xander), and Vivian of Bartlett, Illinois. He leaves behind his beloved brother Gary with his wife Gina and their children Giana and Grant of Homer Glen, Illinois. He will be greatly missed by his loving extended family, friends and neighbors.
