Margaret J. Barker, 66, passed away August 6, 2018. Margaret graduated Steinmetz High School in Chicago and worked in Quality Control most of her life. She was an avid lover of many sports, especially football and loved and cared for many dogs throughout her lifetime. Margaret was the cherished daughter of the late Thomas R. and Marion J. Sullivan; beloved sister of Maureen (Charles) Boland, Thomas (Kathy) Sullivan, Patrick (Patricia) Sullivan, and Kathy (Rick) Glenn; and loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Memorial Visitation Wednesday, August 15th from 6-8pm with service at 8pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Buddy Foundation Animal Shelter- Arlington Heights.

Patricia L. Morris, nee McDonald, 80, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2018. Born in Cody, Wyoming, Patricia was a 47 year resident of Elk Grove Village. She was valedictorian of her Cody High School class and graduated with honors in 1960 from the University of Wyoming with a B.S. in Business. Patricia was a loving homemaker, quilter, library assistant, former Girl Scout leader, and St. Julian Eucharistic minister. She was an active volunteer at PADS and Alexian Brothers Med. Ctr. Patricia was the beloved wife of Edward F. Morris for 57 years. She was the loving mother of Teresa A. Morris, Kathleen L. Whitman, and Jennifer L. Morris and cherished Nana of Kacie L. and Dayton F. Whitman. Visitation Wednesday, August 15, 2018 from 4 to 9pm at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Nenita S. Garcia, resident of Elk Grove Village for 12 years. Formerly lived in Wheaton for 28+ years. Died in Elk Grove Village on August 4, 2018 due to natural causes. She was born in Cavite, Philippines to Julian Salcedo and Dolores Baquir on February 13, 1926, the fourth of ten children. She graduated with a dentistry degree from the University of the Philippines. Shortly afterward, she matriculated at New York University (New York City, NY) and Georgetown University (Washington, DC) for postgraduate degrees in the specialty of periodontology. When she returned to the Philippines, she married Dionicio C. Garcia, electrical engineer and professor at Mapua Institute of Technology. She taught periodontology full-time at the University of the East and was in private practice part-time. Her husband accepted a job in Chicago in 1969, then she and their three children joined him a year later in 1970. They moved to Wheaton Il. She started teaching full-time in the Department of Periodontology at Loyola University of Chicago, School of Dentistry, Maywood, IL in 1971. She was also in private practice in Chicago and Oak Park. She retired from teaching in 1990 and in private practice shortly after. She divorced in 2006 then moved to Elk Grove Village. She was active with the Philippine American Dental Society of the Midwest and became one of its presidents. She was a member of the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society and Chicago Dental Society. She was preceded in death by her youngest child, Gloria Corazon Garcia, in 1965. She is survived by 2 younger sisters (Jesusa Cao and Wilhelmina Mariano), 3 children (Mary Claire, Riza, Fernando) and 2 grandchildren (Matthew, Emilai). Memorial services will be private.

James A. Denna, Sr, 67, of Park Ridge for 9 years, formerly of Elk Grove Village. Born in Elmhurst he passed away Aug. 3, 2018. James was a retired Elk Grove Village Fire Battalion Chief for 40 years and former firefighter in Bensenville. He was the owner of Denna Lawn and Sport for 50 years. James was the beloved husband of Melissa L. (nee Ruiz) for 6 years and the late Sharon (nee Barr); loving father of James A. Jr. (Kimberly) Denna, Robert A. (Shannon) Denna and stepfather of Danielle Pretzer and Mark (Tanja) Pretzer; cherished grandfather of Emily, Abigail, Alex, Aubrey, Riley, Brayden and Macin and dear brother of Larry (Wendy) and the late John (Lori) Denna. Leo was a WWII Navy veteran and the beloved husband of the late Marie T. (nee Leverso) (1981); loving father of Michael L. (Joyce) Mellenthin, Linda L. (James) Palik; Richard A. (Gloria) Mellenthin and the late Deborah L. (John) Mullins (2000); dear brother of Martin (Charmaine) Mellenthin, the late twin, Leona Tauc, the late Sister Paulissa ND, and the late Paul Mellenthin; cherished grandfather of 12 and great grandfather of 21. Ida E. Bruzzino, nee Prosia, 86, of Elk Grove Village for 52 years, passed away July 22, 2018. Ida was born in Chicago, although her parents were born in Italy. When she was fifteen, Ida met her husband-to-be, Frank. After his return from the Marines, they married and had 3 daughters. Ida was a retired 21 year security employee for Elk Grove High School, where she received the Outstanding Leadership and Service to Education Award. Ida’s joy in life was her dedication to family, friends, and animals, and had a selfless concern for the well-being of others. Ida was the beloved wife of the late Frank F. (1989); loving mother of Annie (Bo) Kaser, Frannie Bruzzino, and Terese Bruzzino; dear sister of Anne (Gil) Golbeck, Phil (JoAnne) Prosia, and the late Theresa (late Dan) D’Antonio. (nee Harazin) for 24 years; loving father of William R. (Toni) Hutchison and Mary K. (Robert) Horan; dear brother Richard Joseph (Judy) Ryzner; cherished Papa of Kelly, Erin, and Bri. He is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Virginia, and brother’s Walter, Raymond and Robert. Ronald was the Executive VP of Manufacturing at Circuit Systems Inc. of Villa Park for 15 years.
